Hello Friends and Fellow Staff,

We are deeply saddened to announce the untimely passing of Vi Vuong, a sewer in the Globe division for the past two years. Vi was born in Saigon Vietnam on September 4th 1957. He joined the Globe team on November 1st 2018. During his time here, he became an integral part of Globe’s production team. Vi was always incredibly friendly, dependable and took pride in his work. Unfortunately he passed away last Friday due to cancer at the age of 64. We will miss his smile and great attitude. With many schools across the country opening only virtually, we begin the back-to-school season during a difficult time of change. Change is scary. Change is hard. Change can also be opportunity.

Please know that every decision made over the last few months has weighed heavily on the management team. Every decision has been approached with a mindset of caution, safety, and preparation as we try to capture as much demand for our products that exists in the marketplace. Unfortunately, due to COVID-19 that demand is not as strong as it has been in previous years.

We hope that the shadow of this disease does not spread long and wide, that a vaccine or treatment is coming shortly, that we and our fellow citizens act responsibly to limit the spread, and business returns to normal as soon as possible. We can fulfill our role by being mindful of our fellow employees by wearing masks and keeping 6’ apart wherever possible.

Thanks to the collaborative efforts of everyone here, we are successfully meeting the needs of our customers, and I would like to highlight two employees in particular for their efforts.

July Employee of the Month – Xiao Zeng!

Xiao is a skilled and conscientious sewer who worked at a 160% efficiency rating in July. She is a hard-working, helpful and important member of the red cell production team.

August Employee of the Month – Andre Payton!

Andre has only been with the company a short time, but quickly became a crucial part of our team. He takes pride in his work and has a desire to learn all aspects of production. During the last few months we as a company have dealt with many uncertainties. Andre never missed a beat and was here every day getting mask cut for our first responders and doing anything else asked if him, and doing it all with a smile and a positive attitude.
Globe is incredibly lucky to have Andre on our team.

Thanks to everyone for their hard work and dedication. We will approach the end of 2020 with the same attitude of safety and caution, and aggressively pursue new business to keep this place humming!
